What is X-scream fitness?
X-scream fitness is a highly varied and scalable combination of strength and conditioning exercises that are utilized in order to:
- Increase overall athleticism
- Increase core and peripheral strength
- Increase functional muscle
- Increase cardiac output
- Increase power output
- Reduce body fat percentage
- Form lean efficient muscle
- Utilizes major functional muscle groups to raise overall metabolic output resulting in fat loss
In the process of becoming an athlete you will become leaner and stronger, shedding fat and forming efficient, highly functional muscle. This is not a diet plan, a lifting routine or an aerobics class. X-scream is a set of activities that change constantly to combat boredom, are scalable to any age or fitness level and are derived from the latest scientific research and studies.
X-scream is not designed as a weight loss or strength and conditioning program; it is designed to make well-rounded athletes…. The bonus and the beauty is that in the process of becoming an athlete you naturally become leaner and healthier, thus better looking!
Who can do X-scream fitness?
*Anyone! X-scream is totally scalable and our instructors are proficient in training all age groups and exercise levels.
In many instances those trained will work against their own body weight becoming athletic within their own physical frame. Genetics, exercise, diet and the resulting physiology from those factors varies greatly for each person. X-scream makes allowances for this variance per individual by scaling weights, functions, movements, time intervals and intensity. If you are already an athlete we will make you better, if you are out of shape we will get you on the road to a better, healthier you. Our instructors will additionally help in providing diet strategies and meal plans that work long term and in conjunction with the X-scream program. We have a proven and successful program that is safe, fun and brutally effective. Our instructors truly care and this translates in results!

I am already athletic and in shape why should I try X-scream fitness?
Quite simply we will make you a better athlete!
Looking at yourself in the mirror while you do an arm curl or watching TV while on the elliptical is not what we are about…we are about true athleticism, i.e. mastering the real lifts, movements and activities to achieve peak performance. You will squat, dead lift, bench and push press as well as mastering the Olympic lifts. You will sprint and jump, master the pull-up and push-up in ways you never thought possible. You will become a true athlete and not just “gym pretty” because your muscle performs!!! We differ fundamentally from most modern exercise programs because we stress the basics and don’t offer easy outs or shortcuts. We will be there doing the work with you, providing experience and encouragement as you develop as an athlete. We train Golden Gloves fighters to win and we can train you.
How does X-scream work and how does it differ other workouts?
How X-scream works is quite simple…one does real work!
There has been a dramatic rise in gym memberships, the hiring of personal trainers as well as a general commercialization of health across America. While the trend towards health is good in itself, our country is more obese than it has ever been. It's truly an interesting paradox; Obesity is an epidemic in America yet more people are in the gym than ever before…why is this? The answer is that many people are not doing real work in the gym and eat poorly once they leave the gym.
Work in its most basic form is the displacement or movement of an object (mass) in a period of time, or in other words a measurement of the force exerted over time moving an object, say a dumbbell, from point a to point b. The greater the mass and the faster it is moved the more work is accomplished.
For example when comparing the pull-up and the bicep curl both act on the bicep and can help build it up, however there is a tremendous difference between the two in the amount of work done. The difference is dramatic and helps explain some core tenants of X-scream. The curl will help you look prettier but the pull- up will make you an athlete; we build athletes! The pull up requires moving the body’s entire mass over a greater distance than the bicep curl; thus far more work is done.
The increased work being done is accomplished at the expense calories i.e. burning fat! By doing the pull-up and not the bicep curl more muscle is formed, more fat is burned and the supporting muscle and tissue surrounding the bicep is worked also. This brings us to another X-scream tenant; muscles work as a part of an overall muscle group, they do not act alone. To train muscle to act independently is inefficient and contrary to nature. For real athleticism train the group and not the individual muscle.
The third X-scream tenant is scalability!
Can’t do a pull up…yes you can. Scalability comes into play here. If you can’t pull yourself up use weight assisted pull-ups in high reps, this allows all fitness levels to be able to do the work of the pull-up. Can’t squat 300# so what! Work is easily performed by rapidly squatting ones body weight for high repetitions. Anything a pro “X-screamer” can do a beginner can do. The beginner will just do it to a lesser degree; i.e. scaled down!
The fourth X-scream tenant is the emphasis on anaerobic pathways!
At X-scream we do this by rapidly ramping up the intensity of the workout in conjunction with weights and various physiological movements. Modern workouts often stress Oxidative metabolic pathways at the expense of the Phosphagen and Glycolytic routes. At X-scream we find this to be an antiquated and unscientific way of making athletes.
By stressing metabolic pathways that are anaerobic (Phosphagen and Glycolytic) X-scream allows the athlete to rapidly increase cardiac (aerobic) output while building muscle, in other words the athlete gets multiple metabolic benefits in half the time! You will work harder than you ever have before, in turn you will be in the best shape of your life.
